Sonship DTS

The Lord has taken me on quite an adventure through this YWAM (Youth With A Mission) experience. I have been finishing my DTS (Discipleship Training School) in Seamill, Scotland since September, 2019.  I was given the opportunity to stay and complete the rest of the Lecture Phase, and God definitely showed up and has been working wonder’s since I decided to stay. I’ve grown more in my identity, made new friends, and grown more intimately towards Jesus. I also thank God for the family He has given me here. Here’s what God and I have been up to:

On October 27, I got baptized for the first time in the ocean! It was extremely cold, but so worth it! In November, our team joined another DTS for a week, at The King’s Lodge in England. There I made new friends and had many revelations. The Lord revealed how I lack in fear of Him and need to make Him the Lord of all, or not at all. God’s been teaching me what it means to truly submit every area of my life to Him, trusting His care is the best care.

November 28, we had a wee celebration for me and now I have officially graduated my DTS!

God has been working on refining me and sanding out my rough edges. Over these months, The Lord has mainly focused on dealing with my self pride. He revealed to me how I am very dependent on myself. So much so, I didn’t even trust God to take care of me. The Lord has taken me through steps to help me lean on Him and Him alone. Such as stepping out in little acts of faith, example: prophesying in front of a big group people, standing on a chair and crying out to Him, leading intercessory prayer and much more. All of which have been strengthening my trust in Him.

The Sonship DTS team planned on heading for their outreach the same weekend I was to go home. A couple days before they left, God asked me the question, “Jamiela, what if you went with them?” After getting ready to head home to Canada, I heard God firmly tell me to go to the outreach location. After going through a deep prayer process, the team here, my family and I all agreed I was to join the team for outreach!  I’ve realized God cannot be put into a box, and He has big plans for my life! I’ll be in Scotland for two weeks and then I plan to join the team on December 13th!

The outreach location has not been named due to the country and the safety of the YWAM base
