On January 13th, after 21 hours of travel, almost missing my flight and getting lost in airports, I finally arrived at my outreach location!

This first week I have been catching up with the team and prepping myself for different ministries I will be working with. Adjusting to the new atmosphere has gone quite smoothly, and my jet lag has slowly become non existent.

The weather has been beautiful, since it is winter it’s only been in low twenties but for me coming from such cold winters, it’s like paradise! The only difficulty is the buildings are made to keep heat out, so there is no insulation or thermostats. Therefore it truly is freezing inside!! I’ve had to sleep with many many layers!
Being an extremely diverse country, there are so many languages being spoken, and not everyone speaks English. I have a desire to learn a few of the of the native languages and look forward to seeing where the Lord takes me with them.

Our team focus is family, not only being a good family within our team but also including people into our family and God’s family. Our goal is to build deeper relationships and connect the people to Jesus. I’ve already met some families the team has been in contact with and instantly fell in love with all of them. I am excited to see the Lord move, and see what He has planned for these next weeks. Unfortunately due to the safety of the people here I cannot say any specifics about what I am doing, but I hope to keep everyone updated on my happenings.

I don’t have a lot of free time but I will be trying to post more about this adventure, as often as I can. Thank you to all who gave generously to help me get here, and thank you for all of your support and prayers.
